Birth of a Butterfly
I took these pictures this morning at daybreak, the rain stopped just long enough to make them possible.
The first one is of a Ulysses Papilio Butterfly just about finished pumping up his wings
The next one was just a second before he flew off
2 seconds later the rain started again.

Had a few more b/flies emerge this morning.
Isn't it amazing how something so big and beautiful can come out of something so small?
One of them was sitting on my hand until his wings were dry enough to fly away. At first he landed on the ground and I got a shot of him with his wings open.

We used to have Ulysses that would circle our house everyday at the same time. You could almost set your clock by it. Went on for 7 years. We figured it must have been like a 'migratory' type path that they followed each year.
There was a young boy called Wyatt
Who was awfully quiet
And then one day
He faded away
Because he overused White
Floorsanding in Canberra and Albury.....
