A couple of visitors
When we planted our garden we wanted to bring birds into it so have gone with mostly native plants . SWMBO has a cat which has an external run connected to the house but does not go outside. Have had a few visitors but these guys were in the garden right outside the kitchen. I got a little excited and didn't realise I had taken so many photo's
It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

Little visitors are really special I reckon!!!
When we first moved here, 30 years ago, wifey wanted me to make her an avery so she could have her own birds to look at.I refused arguing that it was much better to look at who ever turns up. Well after plantings of all kinds we have a large variety of "visitors" at different times of the day as layed down by Mother nature. So now I get "Quick come and have a look at this!! Be quiet!! See'". Some method in my madnessJust do it!
Kind regards Rod

Oh those! We get heaps of those, but I never get sick of seeing them. And they sound nice too. Unlike sulfur crested cockies. And we have lots of little birds too. I've found a bird bath is great too. Especially if the "natural " water sources are a bit light on. And lots of insect eating birds will come in for a bath. I love our little flock of thorn bills. They are the quickest bathers ever.

I think they are a Gaura, sold locally as Butterfly Bush. Its actually a bit interesting. We have about 10 pink ones which we purchased from the nursery. Two have since self germinated and they have come up white when we don't have any white ones in the garden.

Blue Mountain Parrots, Mountain Lowries, Crimson Rosellas - call them what you like. They are still one of my favourite birds.

Crimson Rosella's to me... makes having a garden full of natives worth it. In the front yard I have Banksia's, Callistimons, Hakea's, Grevillia's, Wattle's, Kangaroo Paw's a River Sheaok as well as a few other bits n pieces. Back yard is still a WIP but a similar range of plants with some fruit trees & a vegie patch.
It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.
