The bowl is ordinary old Desert Fig (ficus brachypoda) and the pot is a beautifully figured bit of Yarran - type 2! I finally collected some acacia omalophylla to complete my coverage of Yarran on the website - there is only acacia melvillei on there at present.

SJT - I've already replied by PM as I didn't know you had posted here as well.

Yeah, sorry about that. I started this post and realised a PM would be better and accidentally hit the wrong button.

I do theatre lighting for live theatre. (Another hobby) I like the look of Warm White instead of Daylight.

OK, I did it for you.

I used Photoshop to turn up the ambient light.

Going to have to disagree with you here Cliff. An item like this doesn't need more light, in fact the darker areas need to be accentuated and because the item is 'light', the background needs to be darker. The knot at the rear now seems more interesting and the rim is also a little darker. Here's my interpretation using a Photoshop (the original image would of been handy).

You guys are going to a lot of trouble to get a grad background.

This is all easily achievable with reasonable lighting techniques & a few lights. (use cheap halogen floods & a diffuser material instead of flash heads)

This is the sort of thing I did on a daily basis when I was a commercial photographer.... years ago

There are plenty of tutorials on the web about it.

You can't print a grad background big enough for a car or truck
    Cheers

Can you post a bigger copy for us to look at?
