    Default Post your flower pics.

I seem to like taking photos of flowers for some reason. Never really was into flowers that much before ( though the Wife is)
I suppose they are willing subjects that dont move too much and dont complain about you pointing a camera at them ( like some people I know).

So I will start by posting some of mine, constructive critisism is welcome.
I dont know the name of most flowers but if I do I will say what it is.

Please feel free to post any of yours here as well.

Most of my flower shots will be with my Nikon 55D macro lens, but sometimes I use my 18-55 kit lens.

I love to post some, but they're all trannies, and i don't have an appropriate scanner. I built up quite a library of Aust Natives over the years.

You mean negs ? Any flatbed scanner can do a reasonable job with negs and slides. Until I picked up a neg/slide "adaptor" ( triangular reflective thingie - I'll post a pic of what I mean later), I used a small fluoro placed over the slide or neg. Some fiddling but it works. Sometimes used very white paper between to diffuse light.

    Tedious scanning negs manually too.

edit: Can't find the gadget. probably gave it away to big sis along with my flatbed.

Mine was a grey plastic jobbie (commandeered from work) that came with either a HP or Canon.

I like flower photography and don't mind getting down on the grass or dirt for a shot. Dahlia is from the eye level when on my belly on the grass.

Some things flower-like are even more fun to capture because they are not so common. Shroom is taken with a point and shot one handed while hanging on to a rope with the other and leaning out from a bush track at Springbrook as far as I dare (at night).

I wouldn't know a Wisteria from a Weed, but here are some of my flower Photos. Don't know what they are, but they sure are purdy .
The first one is from my back yard, the second one I photographed in Istanbul. The rest are from the Botanic Gardens in Singapore.

The rain we had at new year seemed to kick these Fireball Lilies into life,

It was a windy day, so I ended up taking these photos in my light tent.

    Some type of Grevillea...

That's how the pros do it. No wind, predictable, consistent light.

    Nice btw
