    Default Ravenswood

I've been meaning to start this new thread for awhile.
Now that we live in St. Helens and not Scamander it only seems right.
I have a tendency to name places, in Scamander I just called the place The Shack.
The New place is Ravenswood (aka Idaho).
Ravenswood isn't to hard to get with all of the birds and trees around the place.
Idaho is just from a really kool B52's song from back in the day (if your old enough to remember way back when).

I've been very busy over the last few weeks with one thing or another.
So I'm looking forward to spending a couple of day's just wondering around the place with my camera.
Of cause having said that it's raining this morning!.
    "Tassie Go Figure"

Apart from all the good stuff I normally see each day, a couple of Firetails have started to nest in a tree down the driveway.
    Which is Brilliant!.
I'm keeping my distance at the moment to let them get established, so the photos are from a fair range at the minute.

    IMG_4261.jpg IMG_4264.jpg

Interestingly from what information I have on Firetails they should be building a nest low to the ground.
These ones are at least 16-18 feet up in a pine tree.
Still I don't mind where they are, just happy to have them around.

Here's some more shots from the last few days, in-between all the running around.

After all the rain a couple of days ago yesterday was beautiful.
    Sun shining and birds singing!.
I took some time from the shed and got the camera out.

The last couple of shots in the row above are of Billy the Echidna, he has a burrow about 15 metres from the shed.
I try not to bother him to much as I don't wont to make him feel threatened and move elsewhere.
It's just great having him around the place.

This mornings looking pretty good as the suns starting rise.
I'll do some more work then see what's around.

    Cheers

With all the rain we had the other day the flowers seem to have brightened up a little.

    IMG_4509.jpg IMG_4512.JPG IMG_4511.jpg IMG_4515.jpg

I really don't fancy the diet of the blackbird!.

    IMG_4524.jpg IMG_4526.jpg

Herbert found a wattle that he was more than happy with.

    IMG_4536.jpg IMG_4544.jpg

And Clyde as his name would suggest is just looking superb!.

    IMG_4554.jpg IMG_4562.jpg

I've got some work I wont to finish off on the Brough today.
But after that's done hopefully I'll have sometime for happy snaps around the place.

    Cheers
    Trev.

It's been really quiet the last few days with the camera.
The weathers been pretty average and I'm spending a lot of time working in the shed.

    IMG_4626.jpg IMG_4616.jpg IMG_4615.jpg

If it was the first of April I'd probably try telling you that the first photo shows the incredibly rare bearded Firetail.
But the next two shots gives away that their nest is pretty much finished minus the soft furnishings!.

    IMG_4642.jpg IMG_4662.JPG IMG_4708.jpg

What I know about flowers you could write on the back of a postage stamp.
So I guessing the last photo is of a fairly common garden flower.
    But it's pretty funky!.

Bonnie's fine I saw her and some of the kids hoping around near the back door in the rain yesterday evening.
Apart from all the time I've spent in the shed the rain over the last week or so has really made in hard to get photos.
So the offerings are fairly sparse.

Mind you I lived on the edge of a desert most of my life.
So it could rain every day for a year and you'd get little in the way of complaint from me!.

    Cheers

The baby swallows that are in a nest just above the door of the shed have started to fly.
Since they can now get away if they wont to I thought it was fair enough to take some photos.
