Great photos Bob, looks like photographer heaven does exsist after all.

They are worth taking Bob the dinning one has come out well showing all those Oak casks

Now the 4x4 one look at the additional luggage carrier I couldn't see the RTA or other states allowing something like that hanging off the back tearing through cities or highways. Not sure if I'd have one mounted either.

Cheers Guys, this is photo heaven, well for at least a few months of the year, till it hits -50C and the cameras don't work so well

Yeah - the stitching software took the smile right off her face as well!

Bob a friend went over some time back and one of the guides said the best thing to do with the batteries and camera is keep them warm until needed. To do this she warmed them indoors with ambient heating, 15 mins before heading out camera (SLR) was put into a padded carry back and then kept inside her jacket zipped up. Spare batteries were in her pockets for body warmth. As soon as shots were taken back into the pocket for the snappy and into the pouch for the SLR and back under the jacket.

One thing she mentioned but didn't use was one of those instant heat bags the type you snap and use on muscles etc.

I've shot stuff at -15C in the Italian Alps using the above technique and that was OK but I wonder about shooting all day at -50C. According to my local photo contact the thing that gives out first are the batteries and then the photographer but the rest of the camera is usually OK. There are weather resistant covers available for cameras but thankfully I don't think I will need that at this time of the year. According to the locals we are in for a hot spell where it will reach 28C!

I have taken a lot of photos of waterfalls in the last 2 weeks and although they are not all that well taken I thought I share some with you. One is a snow avalanche but I guess technically still a waterfall?

BRB all that water .............Bob look at all that drift wood a few pens in there.

Only 305 pics this weekend - I must be slipping! Nah . . . . . I got a blister on my little toe, took my mind off the photography plus I shot a lot more RAW this time to see if I could get more dynamic range. Not sure it' really helped.

Next weekend is Lake Wasa.

You have slackened off only 305 poor excuse too,...... now toe the line Bob If you had said saw finger from pressing the button I might understand or RSI or people were starting to wonder why you had one eye squinting and nose out of joint.

What was shown in the picture was about 10% of what was there.

He's taking a dust bath, They flatten themselves out and squirm for about 2 seconds, roll over quickly and do the same. He came right up to me and squeaked several times clearly demanding food and when he didn't get any he took a dust bath at my feet and then ran off Great fun to watch.
