Rosella
Bit of a change from pens, took this photo this afternoon through the lounge room window.
We have heaps of Eastern Rosellas around most of the year and they spend a lot of time in our 1 acre home garden.
This afternoon they were feeding very close to the lounge room window, took this with the 55-250 Canon zoom lens on the Canon 450D, handheld, through the glass.

Nice shot. It's good to have lots of bird-life around the house. We get king parrots as well as rosellas.

Yes, about 20%.
We get heaps of Lorrikeets when our Yellow Gums are in flower, they make a lot of noise and even more mess. They're funny when they get drunk on the nectar, they actually tumble out of the trees!
We don't get the King Parrots, but we do get the Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos when our Spreading Wattles are in flower. They're after the nuts and rip branches off everywhere just to get at them.
Once thing about living in the country, something different happening every day!

That image works well, Fred. The combo of the flowers and the Rosella make it an image that I'd be proud to own. We get pale headed rosellas up here, and they're my favourite of all of the birds that pass through.
I'd trim a tad more off the left hand side if it were mine. To my way of thinking an image such as yours can have more space on the side the subject is progressing towards (so we can see where it is headed), and less of where it has been, if you know what I mean.

Nice shot Fred. We had heaps of parrots at my place when we first came up here to Qld but since we had the trees cut down, they have disappeared

Delightful result Fred.
Many photographers think they have a good shot simply
because they captured the colours of the bird.
You have succeeded because you not only got the
colours but also the eye. It is most important and adds
to the quality of the shot. Well done!
