It pretty much rained here all Boxing Day so I only managed to get a Green Rosella, a Blue Wren and an Eastern Spinebill.
The day was a bust after that with the rain.

It's morning though was beautiful for taking a walk through the bush.
IMG_9197.jpg IMG_9199.jpg IMG_9201.jpg
Grey Shrike-thrush in the first two shots, and I think it as well in the third but the colour looks wrong (still learning).
IMG_9216.jpg IMG_9232.jpg IMG_9236.jpg
A Grey Fantail looking a little more than Grey, and I'm thinking this fellow is a young Dusky Woodswallow.
Over the last week or so they seem to be changing colour.

Here's a couple more just cos their so cute, and the last shot I reckon is a Tasmanian Scrubwren.
But now it's time to have a crack at the second barrel for the Brough.
My airy open plan work space is looking more inviting today without the rain!.
Cheers

Just before the light got to low for the 600mm to be of much use around 6:00 yesterday evening.
I got some nice shots of a Fantail, one of a Flame Robin which I haven't seen before, and the obligatory Dave's Blue Wren.

I'm very glad I haven't put the camera down because I've started work on the Brough.
This Bird photographing "Lark" is great fun and really relaxing.
Cheers

I was out in the yard at around 6:30 yesterday evening looking to see if the Flame Robin would make a return visit.
I had no luck there, but for about 20 minutes or so you couldn't point the camera anywhere without a Blue Wren being in shot!.

Now you're spoiling him!
Great shots, looks like you live in a bird photographers paradise, I would love to get a good shot of a flame robin.

Nah, not on it's own, but will when we go via the ferry (Princess of Tasmania?). Probably going on a months holiday in 2017 to Tassie, partly to check out the finished Brough Superior, partly to shoot a few birds, (not with a Canon, I use a Nikon!) and mainly for a good look around. We were there in 2014 for 10 days, no where near long enough to see it all, such a pretty place to visit.

I was there in 91 for 14 days. Too short a time. Maybe trev should organize a gtg for 2017.
With wnough planing I would put my name down

On Trev doing the GTG, the dress code would muck us all up....no shoes, no sleeves, no name tag, plus a 3-4am rise......that might preclude too many blokes???

This was as close as I got this morning over in the reserve next to the lagoon.

Sometimes the little so and so's just don't play ball do they.
I've been thinking about that.
It would be a bit of fun.
But everyone would need a ton of notice, mostly me!
Cheers Guy's
