Really windy and overcast here yesterday.
There wasn't much around the place to take a photo of so I took a drive down to Binalong Bay.
My thinking was with all the wind the waves would be right up and make for some good time lapse shots.
I was a bit surprised to find the ocean was fairly flat all things considered, but the wind was more than enough to also blow me and the camera off the rocks.
IMG_9953.jpg IMG_9959.jpg IMG_9969.jpg
I got some really nice long exposures out around the 20 to 30 second range, but the wind was moving the camera to much so I packed it in.
Back home it was the same high wind low light.
At one point there was a patch of sunlight hitting a tree in the garden, lucky for me there was a Herbert bird and a Tassie Thornbill hanging around.
IMG_2653.jpg IMG_2656.jpg IMG_2663.jpg
Of cause it was only a couple of minutes before the clouds covered the sun again.
It was about then "I don't know why" I thought it would be fun to turn the flash on the camera.
I found out very quickly that a birds eye does not take well to a flash!.
Still I didn't let that stop me and rattled off some more frames.
Later when I went back through the shots I found a few that although not shape by any means where I'd say interesting.
I really don't know quite what to make of them, but can we say a little artsy perhaps!.

I don't know what do you reckon?.
Cheers

Even though your camera was getting blown around a bit, the photos of the rocks came out reasonably sharp.

I'm really happy with some of the shots from yesterday.
Not so much because of their quality more because there's a couple of people who should enjoy them.
Of cause the first shots are of a Herbert Bird and that's pretty much just for me.

Next is a little splash of winter colour for Dave.
I was more than happy with these photo's when it comes to clarity.
Their right on the money I don't think the lens could take a sharper image.
IMG_2786.JPG IMG_2787.jpg IMG_2794.jpg
Unfortunately the Golden Whistler I managed to get was a fair bit further away.
But hopefully it puts a smile on Charlie's face.
IMG_2805.jpg IMG_2811.jpg IMG_2815.jpg
I think the last two photo's maybe of the female Whistler.
The two where never that far apart.
And here's some nice colour in the sky the other morning.

Thanks Trevor,
Great photos - I see what you mean about the clarity of the shot on the blue wren and the sharpness on focus on the feathers. Top Shots.
Enjoy the Brough today - hope it's not too cold in the shed

The sweet spot on the 600 Sigma is around the nine and a half to ten foot mark.
I caught the Blue Wren in todays photos around the same range.
The Herbert bird wasn't far off the mark either.
Good Grief!.
That's borderline un Australian mate.
It's like saying what's a Kangaroo look like?.
I don't know "City Slickers".
That Charlie Boy is a Wedge-tail Eagle!.
The wind got up pretty well down here yesterday.
Plus I'd taken Charlie's advice and spent a fair amount of time on the Brough.
But still found a few to snap!.

I was having great fun yesterday on my brand new (probably more like 5th hand than second hand) ride on mower.
Kool As it's a Victor Rancher 2 from back in the day.
A little old, A little run down, A little retro suits me just fine.
The point being I think I scared off most of the birds during the day!.
One brave soul stood his ground though.

His an Eastern Banjo Frog (Great Name Hey).
Poor fellow was hiding under a piece of wood I didn't want to mow over, I'm just glad he was able to get home and tell everyone of his near miss.
I did get a couple of shots of a Wren singing in the morning, and a Herbert Bird doing his thing a little later on.

And a late addition: sunrise the other morning.

It looked like the valley was on fire.
