The bad hair day of the Blue Wren is really interesting to watch day by day as it changes.
Up until now I had no idea that the blue colouring forms underneath and the outer feathers moult away.
Here's a few shots of Clyde over the last three days as his colour changes.

I got lucky and caught a pretty good "Hovering Herbert" yesterday.

Mind you I reckon Eastern Spinebill's are great to photograph whatever their up to!.

The days are still a little overcast at times, but the birds are becoming more active all the time.

We've had a few really nice days down here, but that's not to say the mornings aren't a little on the mild side.

It's nice having the Golden Whistlers around although they make it pretty hard to get a good shot them.
They always seem to either be in the top of a tree or hiding in thick foliage.

Eastern Spinebill's and Scarlet Robin's are far more happy to supply "Kodak Moments".

As you can see Bonnie & Clyde are doing fine, but Clyde is still working on his new hair style!.

I've had very little time with the camera over the last few days.
A friend was moving from Scamander to St. Helens so my van got a good workout.

The last two shots on the top row are of a Yellow-rumped Thornbill I was really happy to get a couple of frames of him.
IMG_8657.jpg IMG_8658.jpg IMG_8660.jpg
Clyde's getting bluer by the day!.

With the weather on the improve (kinda) and the flowers are starting to come out around the place.

Yesterday morning one of the big boy's took a low pass over the house.

It's been pretty quiet over the last few day's, but that's not to say the birds aren't around.
You can hear them in the trees all over the place, just not in range of the lens very often.
But Clyde never seems to let me down, always happy to show off his ever changing hair style.

One thing I'll need to keep an eye out for in the future is that I now know Wrens can hover!.
Just after I'd taken the frame of Clyde (last shot top row) he hovered for a good three seconds.
Of cause I'd lowered the camera at the time and had no chance to get the shot!.

If you have a look at the first photo of the Bumble Bee you can see a tiny little fellow flying away (right of centre top).
I'm guessing his getting to heck out of the way!.

Top photos Trev,
How close to the bees - did you use 600mm lens ? You must have a steady hand or a tripod ?

Trev, currently in Adelaide and came across these pictures of Indian motorbikes. They are on canvas and only $8 each, thought they may be of interest to you?
Probably should have put this in your Indian thread but wasn't sure whether you would see it there.
If you want them let me know and I'll pick them up for you.
Best send me a PM as I am not on the forum all the time, son is a bit of a slave driver and has me building wardrobes and other odd jobs
