    There were 5 of these magnificent birds at my place yesterday.

    Super shots!!!

    When I was youngster every second peson in town had a parrot or three.

    One mate had a very large avery and had Kings, Blue Mountains, Cockatiels, Eastern Rosellas, Galahs and Budgies.

    We also had a few finch and quail fanciers in town.

    Thanks Artme. We get quite a few different birds here, but these are my favourite. They come most days. There were 8 here recently.

    I think its real special when we get visited by the various kinds of birds that live in your area. How can those very bold and vibrant colours camouflage the birds in shrubs and bushes.....But they do!!!

    That is for sure. I photographed one in our Tulip tree and I have studied and studied that photo and still can not find it, and it was the focus of the shot.

    Hi AyJay, Great photo's. I hope you don't mind but I played around with your first photo to lighten up the shadows a bit. I notice you're using a 70D, were you using spot focus on that shot?

    Yes, it was spot-focus. I quite like the 70D. As you know though, it's really the lens that makes the difference. This was taken with f.2.8 L 70-200 IS II which I think is one of Canon's absolute best lenses.
