    Default My new toy/s

SWMBO gave me free reign to buy some camera gear in return for setting up her dog runs and other chores around the new property.
So this is what I bought.....................

    Attachment 179393

Canon EOS 7D (body only) with extra battery and 16Gig CF card $1665
    Extra battery $67
    Sigma 17-70 Macro $429
    Tamron 70-200 Macro $786
    Manfrotto 190XPROB Tripod $173
Manfrotto 498RC2 midi ball head $121

Nearly bought the 5D MkII, but with the money I saved I paid for the lenses, and I can always borrow my son's MkI if I need to go full frame.

    Nice

I'm trying to convince the chancellor at the moment that the household needs the 7D (the 60D seems a bit plasticky)

    From whom did you purchase?
    regards

    From here.
Don't believe the 1-2 day shipping time, from order to delivery was 15 days. They're prompt at answering emails and you can contact them by phone and you always get a reference number to quote. When the goods are shipped (by FedEx) they give you the tracking number so you can check the progress.

Very nice GJ. I like the look of that Tamron lens. Is F2.8 on the 200mm the norm with small tele lenses nowdays? I haven't looked at specs on photographic equipment for a very long time
Those were the droids I was looking for.

Congratulations Nick, what lense/s are you using. Be careful when inserting the CF card, DAMHIKT .

    John

I hope you didn't do any damage with the CFcard.

I'm moving up from a 20D so keeping the lenses (or rather fighting No 1 son for the use of them)
I've a Canon 17 - 85 which lives on the camera most of the time this one
I've also a Canon 70 - 300 DO IS which I mainly use for sport. this one

The 7D is very similar but just enough changes to keep me on my toes

I am suitably impressed with it.I'm to yet seriously try the movie option, seems pretty easy to use. Yep I'm one happy little vegemite
    regards
