Stuart MacGill
What are we going to do with MacGill. Did you see the stuff he was bowling on Monday evening? I played cricket, and I was infamous for bowling some absolute shockers (I once hit the square leg umpire ), but what he dished up makes me proud of my bowling memories. For a spinner to bowl three no-balls in a row is shocking. I know he's a good spinner when he's on song, but that exhibition was just terrible.

I'm a supporter of Magilla, or was till I saw him at the Gabba.
He looked like the fat boy in the class. Rolling around after the ball in the outfield. I swear on one occasion Symonds was fielding in the outfield on the other side of the paddock and still beat him to the ball.
Now I'm not one to criticise fielding ineptitude, goodness I'm the world champion, but he looked like a local who'd one the chook raffle and got to field for an over or two as his prize.
He's got his 200 wickets (at the fourth best rate on record as I recall) so get him off and give Hoggie a go till he's fit.
Cheers,
P

I was there on the Saturday, Midge. Were you one of the people yelling "you are a W.....R" at the cops when they collected the beach balls? I'll bet you were.
I like MacGill, and I think that when he's at his best on a turning pitch he's ten percent better than Warne was. But that was pathetic on Monday. On ABC radio a commentator suggested that Hogg had better start warming up ....

Maybe he was just trying to give the other guys a leg up to make a game of it.

I listen avidly to the cricket, but not a real cricketer myself so I shouldn't pass judgement (I'm just a competitive bustard who loves throwing balls) but...I reckon MacGill is a tad fragile mentally. Don't know about his match fitness, but when he's off-song he goes to pieces and can't follow up with the goods. The previous bad ball plays on his mind too much, IMHO. Some other bowlers seem to use them as fuel to better balls. Maybe Hogg is an option now.
Cheers,Andy Mac

He's USELESS!!!! always has been and always will be! He wouldn't hold up Shane warnes's socks. He throws more full tossers and half trackers that my under 10's team
I reckon I could score a test match ton off of he's bowling! They shouldn't call him "magilla" they should call him "Half track Stu" or "Full TOSSER" or maybe even "Ball murderer" Usually they say, there's nothing like the sound of leather on willow.... when "Half track Stu" is bowling, it's more like there's nothing like the sound of leather on willow followed closely by tin as the ball slams against the boundry fence!

He is under a bit of pressure at the moment on finess - Ponting and Waugh have both made public statements. He has a fantastic record but cannot afford to let it slip now.

I'd rather have him as my kid's idol than a certain Shane "Worn"

Even MacGill is bagging himself today "considering his future". Sad way to go out for someone who has achieved a lot while being in the shadow of a freakish bowler. He has conducted himself pretty well unlike his rival.
