I've got the Pulse CD too. So far I've replaced the batteries twice, usually after it has stopped flashing for months, or even years. Better check it again I suppose. Got the DVD for Christmas last year.

Delicate sounds of Thunder - especially comfortably numb and learning to fly.
The other album is at the opposite end of the musical spectrum; it's called "Beyond Nature" by Phil Keaggy. Simply acoustic guitar only - listened to it through most of my thesis write up years ago and still love it.

Cliff, Beyond nature is the only one I really like. I think he's done a couple of other acoustic albums that I've never chased up. He's also done a bit of rock and roll stuff that's doesn't excite me. Check this link to one of the tracks on youtube.

4th August 2007, 07:03 PM #96And I won't mention nearly two hours of remixes of New Order's Blue Monday (including the Gregorian Chant version)
If I can ever find it again, an album called Pan Pipes of the Andes, and another that I can listen to for ages, is a cd I copied from vinyl, the album called Great Weatern Movie ThemesDo not meddle in the affairs of dragons,

For classical guitar: Slava Grigoryan - The Spirit of Spain. (Even better in person! :tyel
That wouldn't be "Music of the Incas" would it?
A reconstruction of what they think is authentic Incan music, played on what they think are authentic Incan instruments, such as pan-pipes made from llamas leg-bones and banjo type thingys (highly technical musical term there. ) made from the shells of armadillos?
Who really knows if they got it right? It's not like there's any Incas still around to ask... but it is a hauntingly lovely album if one is in the right frame of mind.

Shakira
I used to listen to both Babel Gilberto and her mother Astrud Gilberto quite a lot, but quite frankly after a while they became rather depressing, they are a bit on the sad side.Wood. Such a wonderful substance.

Just to toss a classical spanner in the works, J Stamitz Trumpet Concerto in D Allegro non troppo presto, Hakan Hardenberger with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, absolutely brilliant stuff, the trumpet just comes in out of nowhere in what seems to be a pleasant pastoral piece, quite uplifting.
And for Skew, I'll play for you next time I see you, I once performed the complete works of Gaspar Sanz for a regional TV network some years ago, Bream is one of my favourites and of late the Zoltan brothers with their rendition of some Scarlatti harpsichord works.Stupidity kills. Absolute stupidity kills absolutely.

I just posted this link in another thread & it is a track off one of the ones I mentioned at the start of this thread.
Iain, I reckon you might like this stuff too.
'Dancing Shadows' by Armik.
The best bit lasts 30 seconds 3 minutes into it.... best to play it loud with lots of Bass.Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.
