    Default Coltrane

Coltrane does not seem to have been mentioned once.
What a shame. He is a monument of jazz and music more generally.

What about Pat Metheny? Very different, more accessible.

Would probably have more music on in the shed when woodworking, but it is really too dirty/exposed to critters... to have a decent music player in. And I really am not a fan of headphones.

Take iPad into w/shop & play Spotify playlists (Coltrane & 'James' by Pat Metheny on one of them)

Came across some old Dexter Gordon records recently which cleaned up really well. I am now a bit of a fan.
I just might spin them on the turntable in the shed, when I reconnect the amp. Stupid amp

If you have a good internet connection, internet radio is an excellent bet, e.g. blues radio. My setup is an old smart phone with no sim card plugged into a mini stereo which has a dead cd player thanks to plenty of dust. Works well for me.

old harman/kardon receiver/amp with a t-shirt draped over the front to slow the dust, pair of wharfdales with laptop jerry rigged into the aux - add you-tube and it's album wonderland better than archie n jugheads, redeye, batmans, martins, tower, goulds, and the world record club combined. cds are reserved for more pristine places like inside, out the back n at work. the coltrane collection is at work and gets a flogging, though greensleeves is often skipped past.
