    Max Merrit & The Meteors ticks most of the boxes. Pop/rock definitely R&B and had a crack at making it in England.

    Just by way of interlude (while we wait for another clue from Scott), I found this in my searching:

    Ayer's Rock with the fabulous Mark Kennedy on Drums. I saw them live a few times, and at the end they had a percussionist (who I also saw playing with Kevin Borich a few times). Man, talk about adding a new dimension.

    If you watch that, then you should also take in Catchanemu.

    No video for either, but pretty good sound qual (use your headphones and turn it UP).

    Thanks for the reminder FF, Mark Kennedy also played with Doug Parkinson in Focus. They also tick most of the boxes.
