Also add, for anyone into great blues and guitar playing, check out Joe Bonamassa! The guy is one of the best guitarists I've ever seen and man can he play the blues!

I'd give my right arm to play like Jimi, my mid life crisis was to buy a cheap Ibanez guitar & amp. Sold it a year later to finance a trip to Memphis. Couldn't play a note to save my life, got to see Kenny Wayne Shepherd play at the Beale Street Festival though.

At the moment i love this. Apart from one of the best vinyl albums ever produced (name a high end audiophile mag that disagrees) some bloke has put a cracker of a vid to go with it. The beter your gear the better it sounds.

I have been listening to 3 or 4 or this guys albums, sort of Gypsy Kings, and mostly instrumental. Calming driving music for the commute He does a good cover of Crowded House "Fall at your feet"

I have to agree that Jennifer Warnes Famous Blue Raincoat is one of the best as Lignum says. I've listened to it for years. It was produced by Rosco Beck who was the musical director and bass player on Leonard Cohens recent tours, his show at Rod laver 2 years ago rates right up there with the best shows I've ever seen.

ed kuepper - anything by ed from the saints to the laughing clowns to his solo work. one of the great undervalued talents in this country. I waited 25 years to see the laughing clowns play. Saw them in melbourne on the last night of the 2010 jazz festival and went to sydney to see them at the basement the next day. Suffice to say it was worth every second of waiting 25years to see them.

Then i listen to many things from as noisy as i can find e.g grinderman, stiff little fingers, ministry,
to stuff like sacred music, the choir of the cathedral of notre dame de paris, go and see 'em if in paris - magnificent, and the organ!!! no wonder those churches were built so big. Also highly reccomended in this style is a spanish guy called Jordi Savall who specialises in ancient music, anything he does is worth listening to.
Good country music - Hank (the greatest), Lucinda Williams, The smithsonian institutes Anthology of American Folk music etc etc
lots and lots of stuff
Anyone heard of Throbbing Gristle? surprisingly relaxing

Did i mention I also like really really noisy music as well!!!!
What do they say - so much music so little time

One other thing - and I wonder if you other guys are the same - I find I am much more productive when I'm listening to music

I'm a classic rock fan from way back but in the last few months I've been getting into a new Indie folk artist by the name of Ben Howard, absolutely phenomenal. Beautiful lyrics and gob smacking guitar skills.
