Isn't the English language a bugga, there's two ways to spell "steel". And where else would you "do time"?

Sorry Prozac, but your wrong.
Wilson Philips was made up of three girls,
Carnie and Wendy Wilson the daughters of Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, and Chynna Philips offspring of The Mama's and The Papa's Philips couple. Band didn't form until 1990ish. Apart from the fact that it has two sisters that had the same surname as the girls from Heart, no connection at all.

You know, I nearly said Yngwie Malmsteen on a whim a couple of days ago...

Singer songwriter active since the early 70's through to 2000 but you don't see or hear me much these days. I've got a couple of classics to my name and my early band mate from humble beginnings has gone on to very much bigger things in a different field.

I'm thinking Peter Frampton from Humble Pie, or am I reading too much in to the "humble beginnings" reference.

No, not Frampton. My music is more middle of the road. I started out as a busker.

My second thought was Leo Sayer for some reason (I know it's not him). Another clue please Silent.

Sorry, forgot all about it
No, I'm not Leo Sayer. I am Scottish and so is my early band mate. The rumours of my disappearance have been greatly exaggerated but it would probably take a famous detective to find where I sing."I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."

Gerry Rafferty (Baker Street, Sherlock Holmes), without checking Wiki or Goolge.

You got it
His first duo featured himself on guitar and vocals and none other than Billy Connolly on banjo. They were called the Humblebums."I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."
