Lots of people have had a go at that one.
I remember when Col Joy & the Joy Boys were touring in the '60s they had a character with them called Red Pepper & he did a version too.
Here are a couple more.Cliff.

To grow old is inevitable.... To grow up is optional
Confidence, the feeling you have before you fully understand the situation.
What could possibly go wrong.

Foot tapping but more like a good cover than a reinvented song.

I quite like Dolly's take on Shine, and Jack White singing Joline as a man without changing the lyrics, that's brave.
To grow old is inevitable.... To grow up is optional

We're talking about reinvention, Beck's new album will have no audio, only sheet music. So anyone learning these songs won't have an original benchmarkas a starting point. They will most likely be all over the shop. Written notation is not the music, it's only a lifeless map. The interpretion is the music. I want to follow this as the audios start to come back. I'm keen to hear the different versions, it's like a science project.
