I was watching a show on the Studio channel the other night about different artists doing their interpretations of Beatles songs from the Abbey Road album. I thought this was the stand out effort, love the girls voice, such power.

Check out anything by a band called Me First and the Gimme Gimme's. They only do covers but all would come under the heading of re-invented songs. As for my contribution, I think you could call Adam Hills interpretation a re-invention
(I have no idea how to embed the video's so I'm trying two ways and will edit this post if one doesn't work )

It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

I love Me First and the Gimme Gimmes!
Some great punk covers of some great classics. Rocket Man and Somewhere over the Rainbow would be my favourites.

I think the original of this is so well known I won't post a link to it. But I'm rather taken with the WWII Germanic stylings of Laibach's take on the entire album.

Not so much an interpretation as a rendition. Stevie Marriott would be proud.
The original.
