We wanted to fly to Adelaide and rent a car to go through the Flinders Ranges and up to Arkaroola. You would think that if you can hire a 4wd from the major rental companies that would mean you can go on gravel roads. :cool: Wrong.
We ended up hiring from a truck rental company that specialized in rentals for mining industry. Ended up in a White Hilux. Much more street cred outback as well. :2tsup:
You can't even take a hire car from Hobart onto Bruny Island. Just about anywhere you want to go there is on a sealed road.
