Craig,
The 3rd picture in post 85, being the black man with a clock face. How tall is that statute?
Peter.

That's all right Peter, sorry I can't give you and your mate more details about the piece, it's in a Carnavalet Museum just up the road but I've run out of time to make it there again. Early tomorrow we hop in a car and head south, that is if we survive getting out of Paris first.

So good to get out into the country at last. We stayed around the Provence region in a small town perched on a hill named Bonnieux.

Wow. A pigeon in a tree. I though their native habitat was city squares.
Fantastic pics.anne-maria.

Or as we used to say "My Mokums Paradise" before I left on a big boat journey to come and live here. (Legally with papers, ofcourse )
Enjoy your time there Craig, take a boat tour on the canals, go and see Rembrand's Nachtwacht, and make sure you go and have a look at the "Beguinhof" near the English Church.
If you go out as far as the Watergraafsmeer (tram line 9) have a look at 45 Zacharius Jansen Straat and look at the 3rd & 4th floor. THat's where I was born and grew up before I left.
Peter.

Just so happens we used the number 9 to travel to and fro from central Amsterdam to a room over looking Oosterpark, but unfortunately we've had a few hassles with a few things being knocked off one of them being the camera but had our passports/licenses/cards on me thankfully. Still, that bummer aside Amsterdam has been our most harmonious city to be in so far with a lovely rhythm to it. They certainly have transport worked out very well, I've never seen so many bikes around and the tram and canal system is delightful to cruise around in.

That's a bummer Craig, having your camera stolen. Wasn't whilst walking and looking at the working girls in the windows or whilst having a smoke in a brown cafe was it. I suppose no photos then.
Glad you enjoyed the rest the city has to offer. Looking forward to catching up and have a chat about my old home town.
Peter.
