Circular saw blade sharpener
Has anyone tried one of the Chinese saw blade sharpening machines adverised on eBay?
I am deciding between risking one and taking the time to build a jig. The machines advertised grind the tooth face, I would prefer to grind the top of the tooth.

You really don't want to do that.
If you grind the top, the cutting face and gullet get smaller which restricts how much each tooth can cut and is terrible for chip clearance which can lead to overheating. It also means that only the top edge will be sharpened, but the sides of the teeth will still be blunt.
Grinding the face is also much easier because you don't have to worry about the alternate top angles.

If I can get a diamond disc at a reasonable price I plan to try this jig.

I have a few old blades that could do with some TLC.
