Jet Wet Sharpener
I bought a Jet Sharpener about 2 years ago, opened it last week, plugged it in, it ran for half a dozen revolutions before the fuse blew.Renewed the fuse twice with the same result.I am thinking that the speed controller is knackered.Spare parts are unable to procure as they are not producing these any more.I came to this conclusion because there are only 3 things that can go wrong, on off switch, electric motor and the speed controller. The electrical motor is DC powered and revolves between 90-150 rpm. What I would like to know is what sort of speed adaptor could I use in place of the built in one on the machine. Now I was thinking of buying an adapter from Jaycar and wiring this to the on-off switch and then unwiring to the electric motor. The motor draws about 150 watts. are there any bright sparks that could give me some direction please.
Thank you kindly
Ken Casey

Have you gone over everything that's visible just to make sure all of the connectors are corrosion free and have solid contact?
Here in the US, a lot of those stopped working within a year or two just due to very cheap connectors- not suggesting you haven't already given it a good look, just recall how popular it was on forums (half the price of a tormek at the time with accessories included) when it came out and then how fast within a few years, there were a lot of complaints about the units not working.

Jet Wet Sharpener
Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.Yes I have taken my unit to an electrician and he confirmed that the board is Cactus and not working. So I have been ringing around try ing to find a controller that may work. Not much luck so far.I can get the part from US which is about US56.00 plus postage which is about the same again. So if I go down this path,I might as buy a new one.
Thanks Again
