Default King 4000 and 6000 stones

    Hi,
Is there a way of telling the difference between the king 4000 and 6000 stones. I have two and I can't work it out. There seems to be no labels on them.

    Thankyou
    Andy

Could you tell the difference by what it does to a blade?

Rub a blade on each one and look at result with magnifying glass?

I havn't got a magnifying glass, but I might polish the back of one of my chisels and see how it looks and then compare.

    Hi Andy,

The 6,000# are a light tan colour, the 4,000# are a light grey/tan. Both are soft stones with the 4,000 being a bit softer than the 6,000.
