I checked out Masters....
Thanks for the info about the Tiger 2000. I went to H&F and bought one a week ago. Due to annoying things like work, gardening etc. I haven't opened the box yet but hope to in a couple of weeks.
Last week we went to the new Masters store in Baldivis. I am very impressed - lots of staff who actually come up to you and say "need any help?".
The stock is displayed very well and priced. I think Bunnies will have to lift there game.
But one thing got right up my nose. Having paid $169 for the Tiger I saw a identical sharpener with the brand name 909 for $139!!!
It is a Chinese copy but 30 bucks is,,, well, 30 bucks.

a few members have commented in another thread in this forum "a cat amongst the pigeons" about that one...I was considering it myself but by the sounds of it the 909 is an inferior machine to the tiger 2000.

Hi Peter,
I have a couple of questions if you will oblige me. I suspect you might know the answers... I'm thinking of buying an S 2500, mainly for lathe tools and chisels. Here's my questions...
Why cant you run the S for more than half an hour? What happens after half an hour, does it stop or something?
Does the Tormek SVS50 Multi-Jig work with the S?
Cheers,

When I investigated the Seppach prior to buying I read that the motor was rated for 30 minutes continuous use only as opposed to the T which can be switched on in the morning and left running all day. When I first did all my tools I ran it longer than 30 minutes at the time with no ill effects but I wouldn't do it all the time as I presume the motor would overheat and burn out.
It's not a hassle for once your tools are sharp you wouldn't need to run it continuously in a home workshop.
All the T jigs run on the S with the possible exception being the planer blade sharpening jig. The SVS50 does work as I use it.
Peter.

Great thread guys, its answered a lot of questions I had. I am in the market for a new sharpening system and I have been looking at the sheppach systems. Will be off to the Brissie wood show a bit wiser now.
Dave,
hug the tree before you start the chainsaw.
