    Smile Scheppach TiGer 2000 modification

I like the Scheppach TiGer 2000 not as flash as the Tormek product but it does the job for me. However I have been envious of the height adjuster on the Tormek sharpener.

I had one of my son's friends who is a fitter and turner modify the tool rest for me by replacing the riser closest to the stone with a a threaded rod. He made this out of some 12mm stock although I think that it may have been a little larger. I had to enlarge the hole in the machine by about 0.5mm to accommodate the modified tool rest.

I had him flatten the thread on the side where the toll rest is locked into position. The addition of a hex nut it now means that I have fine control on the height adjustment of the tool rest.

Based on the idea in your post I took mine in to the Men's shed last Monday and am getting a thread cut on mine. Should get it back on Monday.
