    Hi all,

Has anyone had any experience with these Einhell BT-US240 Bench Grinder Linisher - Sanders?

I read about Derek Cohen's set up, but not sure how this machine would fair for the same purpose. I am doing quite a bit of fettling of planes, lapping of chisels and sharpening of everything at the moment as i am buying old nd refurbing as i set up my workshop, and so want to mechanise the process soon.

They are only $79 from Get Tools Direct here in Maroochydore. I just wonder is anyone has any experience with them?

    Regards,
    Dave

The price is right. Give it a go.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

Hmmm. How bad can it be, right? Obviously it is a bottom of the line item, but so was my Aldi vac, and it has been great. I just wonder if anyone has experience with this it?

No experience, but have a deal with the Sorby ProEdge which I like a lot, not least for the jigs.

It runs slow for a linisher which is ideal for woodies. It also costs a lot more

Thanks Ern. I just dropped in to see it and wasn't too impressed. Might be alright for hobbyist but I wouldn't expect it to provide a lifetime of sharpening.
Back to Gumtree for an oldie I reckon.

That wouldn't necessarily be my reading. Have done a lot of lapping and bevel grinding with it and am happy so far. I find it solid and reliable. Have posted that experience on two threads on the forum if you're interested.

No, it's not an industrial duty tool but I don't do industry-style work cycles.

Another option is the Multi-tool to hang off a bench grinder.

The most important part of the research re this kind of tool is what belts are available?
    Cheers, Ern

Sorry Ern, I should have been specific. I dropped in to Get Tools Direct to see the Einhell grinder linisher and wasn't too impressed. Certainly wasn't referring to your methods as "hobbyist".
