    Question Router Bits

Is there a way to sharpen router bits. Something like a 19mm dado bit? I have been cutting dados for a rather large book shelf and I notice the router is working harder than usual. I am cutting tassie oak.

Remove the bearing if one is fitted, and rub the flat part of the cutter on the corner of an oil stone, water stone or a DMT type diamond whet stone. Even a 'card' diamond whet stone will do the job. Take care not to score the shaft. Might pay to wrap a bit of insulation tape around the shaft to protect it.

Jim, thanks for the info. I'll try it on my waterstones.
