I have one here that I bought off Wongo, but due to upgrading both the jointer and thicky, I never had a chance to use it.

Can’t remember what I paid for it but make me an offer if you’d like to buy it.

Silly question but will the Tormek planer blade jig fit any of the other wet stone grinders that seem to be clones of the Tormek machine? They seem to be almost identical but mirror reversed and I was wondering if the mounting holes were in the same position.

With the Tormek BGM-100 accessory you can use any of the Tormek Jigs on what ever grinder you choose. The only restriction is access due to the design of the new "host" grinder and the center height alignment. Its not difficult to pack the height of the grinder / jig to align.

I have a Caravagi mulcher that uses one 100 mm planer blade as the cutter. I regularly sharpen the three blades I have for it on an Abbott & Ashby 200 mm "spark" grinder using the Tormek jigs.

Thanks Moby, I was more concerned with the spacing of the two upright legs that fit into the body of the grinder itself. It would be common sense for manufacturers to make the spacing the same but then there are problems with patents and the like. I have a "Saber" (Total Tools house brand) machine and want to fit the Tormek planer blade jig to clean-up my Dewalt planer blades.

Measure the Saber leg spacing and I will check it against the Tormek.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

My 3 remaining brain cells finally reminded me that I had to do something, then I worked out what that "something" was.
The inside dimension between the posts was 87.9mm and the outside dimension was 111.7mm which is starting to sound like an imperial dimension but I could be wrong there! It means the rods could well be 11.9mm in diameter and that sounds like it's an imperial size also.
    Thanks for the help NC.

78.3mm, 102nn and 11.98mm so no go. You could use the jigs that don't have their own support bars but not the planer blade jig.

Thanks NC, I had the feeling that the jigs would not be interchangeable but it was worth a try. Back to the drawing board. Again.
