    Default Tormek sharpening system

I just wanted to post my satisfaction with Tormek T7 and the Tormek sharpening system.

With 's help, I set mine up yesterday. I purchased the T7 at the Sydney WW show. My plan was to use a traditional grinder with the Tormek jigs for it, to shape the tools or correct any gross bevel errors, and then finish and sharpen on the Tormek.

I realise it is only one day, but I am very pleased with the set up.

The tools come off the stone very sharp and the system is easy to use, once you get your head around it.

I would recommend anyone with limited sharpening experience to look seriously at the Tormek set up and some instruction on it's use from someone that knows the system and how to set up the jigs.
If you find you have dug yourself a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.
I just finished child-proofing our house - but they still get inside.

Today I went out and bought the SVD185 gouge jig. spent an hour or so redoing a couple of gouges boy what a difference having a nicely shaped and sharpened gouge Tormek certainly make it easy for a beginner.
Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything, but they
bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs .

I've had some time to play with the tormek. Sharpened all my turning tools and then started learning about the chisel sharpening set up.

All I have to say is holy cow. I picked up a Titan that I got at the 2nd hand place. Bevel was a bit off and the back was a little ordinary. Fully fifteen minutes from go to whoa and the pic shows how sharp it is. I have NEVER been able to get a chisel to that. Can't wait to see what I can do with a plane blade.
