Wet stone sharpening
Went out Tuesday and purchased the 909 wet stone sharpener from Masters, then to Pop's Shed and purchased the Woodcut True Grind system for wet grinders. Works a treat and a fraction of the cost of the Tormec system.

Nice one! Have you played with it enough yet to do a review?
Are you happy with it so far?

That Masters Wet stone is the 3rd I have seen in the last week. Could you give us a rundown as far as performance goes? Its one thing to see them on the shop shelf but the unknown is how well do they work. Super cheap has one for around the $100 mark and I think that one is similar to a Gasweld one
Just do it!
Kind regards Rod

Do you mean fraction of t he cost of the Tormek sharpening system or the Tormek turners sharpening jigs?
Eitherway yeah thats a cheaper option. I have a Scheppach tiger 2500 and was going to purchase the Turners kit from Tormek but its roughly $300-400 just for the jigs. If you can sharpen all the turning chisels with that tru grind then its a pretty good option. Id be keen to hear your thoughts on it further

I will be having a good play this weekend. So far the results of sharpening a spindle gouge have been excellent. The 909 comes with jigs for chisels and small knives and works well. The Tru Grind is very similar to their dry stone setup. Very little to change in using it. Will post more after the weekend and if possible some pics. The TRu Grind tool sharpening sysytem was abo0ut $160.

Looking forward to it. Yeah my spindle gouge needs a sharpen too so that sounds good lol.
Thats what i found it online for also. I think i should pick one up. Much cheaper than the tormek jigs

Spent some time today sharpening tools and trying them out. Must say I am impressed. System easy to operate and does what claimed. Have added a page on each. Hope it is readable.

Cool. Mine seems to have same feature set. How do you find the tru grind? Does it give you consistent results? Are you happy with it?

So far so good. I was happy with the true grind on the dry wheel and still use it for some other items. The wet stone setup I find needs a little back pressure to avoid the base slipping out on extended setups, but is not a problem. Consistency is not a problem.
