Looks just like the Triton one I got over a year ago. Your right you do have to push hard to make it work, I thought it might be because the drills are not that sharp. I to was wondering if you could get replacements for them as I don't know what to do when they need replacing. At least I now know some one else is making the same machine. They work great otherwise.

It's probably the same as the triton one as gmc moved some models into the triton range when they owned it, try your local carbitool distributor as they do some cutters that might fit, other company you might want to try up there is carbatec

Yep looked at the pics on the Triton website they arethe same machine just different colour lol same guy in the pics as well, the triton site says it comes with different size bits 6mm 8mm 10mm so you didn't get any besides the 10mm ?

Who did you buy it from maybe they stock or can order bits?

Sent an email to CT wont hold my breath though.
i will send an email through to carbitool if I dont get a reply by the end of day.

The tool is amodified biscuit cutter.

The issue with the DRILL BITS is the Sharpening, looking at the pic's the Flutes have been reground and have a flat behind the cutting edge, his means that with out any relief behind the edge you have to force the tool.

I would relieve the drill edge slightly , and touch the edge up slightly as well, do not make the angle too aggressive.

Had a look at Masters site today out of curiosity.

Have a close look at the 909 thicknesser , the motor is GMC.............hmmm

Did Woolies get the rights to GMC and rename it.......I wonder

This may be a silly suggestion, but if you need 8mm shanks, could you not use spiral upcut router bits with an 8mm shank? Festool make them, as do Leigh. The Festool ones are comparable in price to CMT and are readily available. Have a look at the consumables for the routers at the Festool web site. The Leigh ones should be available through CT

I bought one of those a few years ago. They were on special because bunnings wanted them gone. Found out one side drilled slightly bigger holes than the other side, making the dowels sloppy in the hole. The drill bits were crap, they started smoking and was real hard to plunge into the wood. The ends looked like they were burnt. Ended up flicking it off on trademe. What a waste of money.
