While browsing for quality abrasive, surprisingly I found one shop selling Mirka Abranet abrasive 5 inch in diameter...., just right for my Metabo ROS. It sold in a pack of 50 psc/box with reasonable price. The backing looks similar with regular velcro abrasive disc, but I think I need to do some research before buying the whole pack.

Then here's what I found on the net:
There SHOULD be a specific precaution when using Mirka ABRANET on ROS with 'hook and loop' (velcro) sanding pad.

Here is one testimonial regarding using Abranet on ROS with velcro backing pad :

In other words, you'll need a specific pad protector in order to prevent the velcro hook from damage...!!!!
I'm not sure whether the shop would have this pad protector or (any special backing pad by MIRKA)

Anyone have experience with Abranet on velcro Random Orbital Sander ?
Is the pad protector essential?

Thanks,
Mich
