Eerst, welkom vriend.

Your needs would best be covered by a Triton workcentre. A great Aussie invention where the saw can be used in a TS mode or converted into a docking mode and the saw can be taken out and used for hand use and easily replaced.

I am afraid this is a bit above my budget, the Triton2000WC alone is already a couple of 100 dollars ...:eek:
Let's say we forget about the 'table', and I want a cut-off saw with a removable handsaw? Does that exist? And which one is recommendable?

You can often get a Triton WC with saw second hand. They often come up for sale on this board or try Ebay. That may be an option.

I don't think there is a cut-off saw where you can remove the saw for hand use. However there are cheap cut-off saws and saws, Bunnings has the GMC. Whilst not top quality they come with a 2 year warranty and they may suit you for the time being untill you can afford better.

Well, I don't think the Triton Workcentre is really for my budget, secondhand or not. I rather spend some extra money on a Sliding Compound Mitre Saw, and buy an extra handsaw for a couple of bucks.

What about GMC? That's an Australian brand (Buy WA first ) and according to the reviews I see on the internet, it is not a bad choice either (pricewise and warranty-wise)
Or is there another brand, in the cheaper sector, let's say max. $ 250,- for a 250mm Sliding Compound Mitre Saw, which has an acceptable quality as well?

And than the last question, is there an online shop which has good deals, or should I just buy my tools at Bunnings?

I think you will be very disappointed in the quality of the power tools that are less than the Triton in price.

That said, Bunnings have a large variety of bottom end table saws (Ryobi & GMC) as well a big selection of hand & power portable saws on 'special' for the next week or so - Bunnings is a WA company
