    Default AEG dual bevel SCMS

I just bought a PS254DB for a good price second hand

I'm quite happy with the Dual bevel feature and found out it can do 70 deg mitres as well, which I believe is unique to AEG

I'm thinking of getting a 60-80 tooth for finer cuts

Anybody have or had experience with this machine regarding setup and what might be a suitable blade for clean cuts

    cheers

On setup, I felt like an idiot when I started to make a zero clearance insert... Just loosen the screws on the orange pieces and slide them together until they touch the blade... In a similar vein, once you have dialled in exactly 90 degrees with some test cuts, the angle scale can be adjusted by loosening the screws holding it down, and then rotating the scale to the zero mark.

The shadow line (as opposed to laser) cut indicator is very accurate, but mine died after a while - sawdust got into the led housing, overheated, and dulled the plastic window...

Any good blade will give good cut finish with good technique. Just check arbor size before buying.

I think its an overlooked saw - very good value for the level of adjustability and power. Mine's still going strong after 5 years of fairly heavy use and abuse.

    thanks jpdv

I too proceeded to start making zero clearance inserts until I looked at the manual ( which is something I do last) whick outlined that procedure

I'm liking the saw so far, I bought a reasonable 60tooth blade which made all the difference, I think the blade supplied with it was worn out and of poor quality in the 1st place as they usually are

I spent an arvo squaring it up etc and if it stays that way I'll be happy

    cheers
