    Default aldi nailer/stapler

Anyone got any feedback on Aldi's air brad nailer/stapler. I alrady have a brad nailer but the stapler would be handy. I assume that the staples are a regular size and easy to find?

I have one and even though I have used it very sporadically, it works well.

However, I still have a manual stapler that I prefer to use when I have to. Probably something to do with not having to plug it in.

To be honest, I don't know. I did say that I use it very occasionally as I prefer the manual one. The downside of using the manual stapler, is that the penetration is not as great as the powered one.

That stated, I would assume that the staples would be standardised across the industry.

Make sure there cheap as you will not be able to get parts for them later on, we get customers bringing in aldi tools & we can never get parts for them. To prevent chance of failure make sure you oil regularly & have a filter reg attached to compressor to run at the right pressure

Thanks, that puts some perspective into it.

I have one. For the price, it is an acceptable tool for occasional use fixing backs to carcases or other small nailing jobs. No depth control (less adjusting the pressure at the compressor's regulator), but if you only use if for carcase construction work in concealed areas, that shouldn't be an issue.

I can't recall if I have bought any replacement staples, but it certainly takes standard size brad nails available.

I have one, or at least I have had one for several years, so mine may or may not be the same model as they currently sell. Mine has a depth control. The staples are easy enough to find at Bunnings - standard narrow crown ones from memory. Can be had in a variety of lengths. I haven't used mine a lot of times, but when I have used it was to attach bird wire to hardwood frames for largeish aviaries. I would guess that a few times I have put 1000 or so staples through it in 1 - 1.5 days into hardwood. Never had a problem with it. It has the power to do what I need, and for occasional use it holds up well. Like I said, mine is a few years old now and no problems.
The other day I described to my daughter how to find something in the garage by saying "It's right near my big saw". A few minutes later she came back to ask: "Do you mean the black one, the green one, or the blue one?".

Mine is faulty in that the 'safety' seems to be purely decorative... ...but for light, casual use by myself that's not a problem.

I've bought both brads & staples for it @ Bunnies.

Biggest problem I had is that if you don't set the depth control properly, it will put the staple straight through the wire thereby not doing exactly the best job of holding it on. That's user error though, not the gun.
