Anti Splintering Device
G'day there,
just wondering if anyone knows where I might get an anti splintering device for my Makita 4340FCT jigsaw. I have a part no. 192557-6. Has anyone used these and do they stop splintering when cutting plywood?

You could make one out a small piece of MDF. Cut a piece a fraction longer than your jigsaw base, and use the jigsaw (with the blade you want to use) and cut a short slot in the end. The saw is backed into the slot and the MDF fixed to the base of the saw. (screws or double sided tape)
This gives you visibility of your cut-line, with break-out protection.

A piece of perspex can provide even more visibility. It eventually gets scarred and scratched but I just replace it it when it gets too bad.
