    Post Antique moulding 'spokeshave'

I have an old tool which has a metal spokeshave style handle and a wide blade mouth which holds a moulding blade. I am told it is used for moulding curved surfaces where a moulding plane cannot work.
The question is what is the correct name for this tool? Any ideas?

They are called "Hand beaders" (eg. Stanley #66 Hand beader).

re: what the other guy said. Stanley have a web page which list with photo's all of their hand planes. I can't give you the web address as I don't have it but you should find it on there if you are intereted.

    The Stanley website is http://www.supertool.com/StanleyBG/stan0.htm

This should be a permanent reference source for all woodworkers.

    Enjoy
