On a bit of a run with power tool dust extraction mods
Hi all, another dust extraction mod to my power plane, another tool that doesn't get alot of use, but very handy when required, I had a small job for it but decided to add a dust chute so I could attach a vaccum hose for use with the cyclone.
Here's a few pics, basically the vac hose shute was made up from piece of 38mm dia copper tube with another bit of tube unfolded and reshaped to suit the shape of the outlet on the plane, I then silver soldered the two pieces together along with some tabs to suit the screws to hold it onto the planer, the soldering is a little rough as I only have LPG and air heating tip and this is only just enough heat, really need LPG or acetylene and oxygen. I also added a tapped hole in the body of the plane for another holding screw

I only noticed a few odd bits of chips coming of the blades, at a guess 95+% going into the collection bin
