    Post Blade for SCMS

As EVERYONE knows by now, Thanks Kev I have a new SCMS.
It came with a 40 tooth blade (5 degree negative rake of course, they did it right).
For treated pine it is fine but I would like something with a bit more finess for inddor renovations.
CMT have blades and I like CMT but $170 or close too for a 10" is a bit over the top.
Any suggestions for a good middle of the road blade, eg Irwin etc?

The 80 toothe Irwin gives a good finish on both hard and soft woods. It retails at around $100 and is available at you know where. I've been giving it a workout on 250x50 kd tas oak, no problems, no burning.

Also give Richmond Saws a call and see what they have (they're tucked in a laneway behind the pub on the corner of swan and church st's richmond).

    Cool

It is a common thing for fussy types to use an aluminium cutting blade in their mitre saw for cutting wood trim.
I cut a lot of aluminium extrusion & at times I cut timber trim with the same blade. the finnish is superb.
Currently using a 120 tooth aluminium cutting blade.
Cant remember the brand off hand but it cost me about $130.
There are some cheap aly blades arround for arround $90 approx.
But if you want nice it costs.

    rememdered brand KOYO

Any thing with sharp teeth eats meat.
    Most powertools have sharp teeth.
    People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.

I use a Linbide blade for aluminium in an old dewalt radial arm saw of my dads

Its excellent on melamine coated chipboard, very little tearout for ripping and croscutting. Its ok crosscutting solid timber like tassie oak but it does burn a bit on jarrah.

Not sure how many teeth but its a triple chip blade with a negative tooth angle
