    Smile Blast gates

Steve,I have ducted all my machines and have put blast gates close to the machines purely on the basis that as a matter of convenience.
As the ducting is mounted off of the ceiling I saw no point in having the gates out of reach and as a consequence have not discerned any loss in performance in achieving the removal of chips/shavings/dust.
The one factor in all this is to provide gates at all points if necessart to maintain the effectiveness of your dust extractor.

    Just my view
    Cheers
