    Default Bloody trim gun...

    Hey all new user here.

Been having a few dramas with my paslode finish nailer, the gun won't fire after the safety has depressed, after punching it into a block of 90x35 pine a few times she decides to go again but stuffs up regularly, and it gets pretty annoying. Has been serviced regularly and is fairly well maintained. Seems to be common problem amongst the boys and we haven't got an answer other than, "yeah f*^king useless things they are"

So here is my question does anyone have any experience with the new Senco F15 15 guage gas less nailers, uses an 18v battery? Was keen to get some thoughts as I'm probably going to get a new gun and these look good and wondered if they work well.

Will be interested in these guns too.
The problem with the paslode could be a faulty trigger switch, had this fault happen to mine a couple of times before I switched to dewalt guns.

I had a similar problem with the paslode fixer and I, too, switched to the DeWalt 18v. That was 2 or 3 years ago, and I haven't looked back.
My experience with Senco is that they make (or at least, made) the best guns. So you probably are on a good thing with them (but no recent experience, except for the 25 year old air guns I have got that never miss a beat).
    good luck

Yeah thanks guys, seems to be fairly common with them, so as reliable as my paslode framer has been its looks like my brand loyalty and my trim gun are getting the #### for a Senco, would love to hear of anyone that's been using one!

Odd that my framer has never skipped a beat apart from a few jammed nails?

Had a similar thing with mine, it was the small receptor for the gas cartridge where the the nozzle fits into, replaced that, just like brand new. Try that first, I think you will be surprised by the result

Yeah cool might give that a go then. I'm off to a fit out job again tomorrow so hopefully I can stop carrying my block of pine with 50 pins in it everywhere...

    Default senco

Hi, just saw your thread. I've been using the Senco cordless for a year or two now, not every day but fairly regularly.

Like everything it has its good points and its bad. On the good side, it's a nice looking thing, it has enough power to do the job, it's not too heavy, doesn't need hose, compressor or gas cylinders and doesn't need frequent battery changes which charge quickly anyway.

Now for the bad. One of the batteries fell apart in the first week but was replaced with no questions asked and they've both managed to stay in one piece since then. Six months or so later one of the batteries started to lose charge really quickly but was once again replaced with no trouble. On two occasions I've grabbed a battery from the charger, put it in the gun and.......... nothing. press the charge tester button, full charge so back in the gun....nothing. I tried the battery again a day or two later and it worked, so.. go figure. I don't leave the battery in the charger once it charges just in case that had something to do with it and it hasn't happened for a while now, so maybe.

At first it misfired enough to be a major irritation but since I've stuck strictly to senco nails (suggested on another forum) it isn't happening enough to bother me.

All in all not a bad bit of kit but....

I use it for work but I don't use it all day every day so it suits me to be able to leave it in the ute and grab it as needed but I think if I were using it all day every day, for the same money, a small light weight aluminium compressor, a coil of hose and my Bostich air gun (quite a bit lighter and more powerful) might be a better bet.

    Hope that helps

    Cheers
    Don
