    Hi Garageman,
I don't mean to be offensive but your post is very hard to follow.
Some fullstops and capital letters when you start a new sentence would make it easier to read.

Can't offer you any advice on your problem other than to say the Bosch blue range has a better reputation among tradesmen,

The Bosch Green is the handyman variety, basically cheap stuff. The Makita equivalent is the Maktec brand. Bosch Blue is the trade stuff, equivalent to Makita.

    Default Bosch

    G'day Y'all
I ran a cabinet shop with 7 people on staff and we had just about every brand of tool that is commercially available.
The DeWalts out lasted the Makita, and the Boschs are still running when everything else is dead,
    For what it is worth.
    Regards
    Joe

    Hi Garageman
I too bought the same router from Bunnings last week and have had no problems what so ever. I considered the Makita 900w but went for the extra grunt. It is a handymans tool but that is what I do.

I have used a smaller Bosch router 320 Watt for years and it has never let me down and allways punched above its weight.Attachment 162486 so that influenced me to go for the bigger one.

This is a project that I used it on over the weekend. I ran a 4mm x 20 mm inlay around a desk draw I am making.Attachment 162481Attachment 162483 The machine worked perfectly straight out of the box. I love it.

I'm running about 7 Bosch green and blue and think they are great value for money. Zero problems and they get hard use.

I have the blue GHO 26-82, had it for about 4-5 years, go's, go's, go's some more. The green items I have (elect drill, bat drill, 7 1/4 circ saw, PSM 80 sander) all seem as good as the blue.

I've been using my Bosch jigsaw since 1977 without a single problem apart from a cord renewal. That's a personal best Next longest survivor; Hitachi compound cut saw, going without fault since 1987.

    I've got a mixture:

Circ saw: Makita. 10 years and going strong
SCMS: Makita. See above but only 5 years old
Router: Bosch green small 400w thing. Killed it with many years of abuse. Finally died a death milling 19mm slots in spotty. Now I have a table mounted GMC and a Makita 3600B
Drill: Bosch green 550 PSB. 10 years. Replaced chuck but otherwise going strong. It's copped an absolute pounding.
Cordless: Gone through a Ryobi, now onto a 14.4 Bosch green. 3 years old. Ok but battery starting to die.
Angle grinder: Makita 125mm was DOA, so replaced it with a Bosch green. Hasn't missed a beat, and I've done a fair bit of grinding bricks with it.
Orbital sander: 400 Bosch Green. 10 years old still going strong. Also have a Bosch mouse type and it's ok too.

A very favourable view on Bosch green from me. Not a professional tool but still more than capable of anything I've thrown at them.

    Cheers,

    Tom
