Buggered Drill
Howdy all.
It had to happen, I dropped my cordless drill , surprisingly it bounced and the casing and battery survived intact but the drill began making a horrible noise and reduced revs. After dismantling I found one damaged gear in the gearbox. EPTS tell me it is not available as a spare on its own (You have to buy a new gearbox/motor assy for $60!) so my plea to my brethren is this... does any one else out there own a dead Ryobi cordless drill that I can burgle? It is a 12V HC1262 but I'm sure similar models would share the same gearing.
I just canna come to terms with chucking it for want of a two cent gear!
MMM....Or is this the time to start comparing models in time for the Adelaide T&WWW Show! The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.

Try a modelling shop. No, not that kind of model. They often have all sorts of small gears from Mechano sets etc.

Smart tip recycling centre
If you were in Brisbane I would suggest trying the Smart Tip Recycling Centre as they have boxes of drills going through all the time. Maybe you have the same in Adeliade.
