Where to buy 220v momentary foot switch?
I have a lot of holes to drill; does anyone know where I can purchase a 220v momentary foot switch, preferably with AS plug and socket?
The US is swamped with the things, but of course they use a wacky voltage. I could possibly get one from the UK and swap the plug/socket over, but I'd prefer to buy an Australian-ready unit..

I made one from an old sewing machine foot switch. If you can't find one you can borrow mine but it will only work if your drill press hasn't got a NVR on/of switch.

You could try Jaycar. If they do not have the complete thing, they probably have the parts to have it made up by a sparkie.

Thanks, I saw their foot switch. It has a cord coming out of it, but no inlet for the drill plug. I presume, as you say, it would require some electrickery that I'm not familiar with.
I know Australia is a miniscule market for such items, but surely someone here must market a 220v version of the plug and play type of switch?.

Bunnings accessory switch with plug and socket
McJings accessory switch with plug and socket
Tobins have a range that should be able to be sourced via electrical wholesalers like Middendorfs. Most will be set up for single cable operation as they are intended to be wired into existing equipment, rather than accessory switches.

Cliff, are there any issues with using the foot switch with the average drill press on/off switch? I don't know if they are actually NVR switches.

Works fine with all the small gear I have.
Anything with a toggle, trigger or rocker switch will be fine.Cliff.

To test if they are NVR switches you turn on the drill press and then turn the power of and on again at the powerpoint and not on the machine. If the machine starts again it hasn't got a NVR switch but of it stays of it has and you can't use a footswitch.
NVR = No volt release switch.

So does your drill have an NVR switch installed, Woodwould? If so, and the foot switch would make like easier, it would not be too difficult to re-arrange things so that you could have both usable independantly, selected by a change over switch. Send a PM if you need more info or help with that option.
