I purchase a new base a few years ago at the wood show directly from Metabo but I think the stand was run by Total Tools. I am sure that if they do not carry it as stock it could be ordered in for you.

Any TOOL SHOP that sells METABO TOOLS , will be able to supply a new base , what is the issue wih the old one//.

If the Velcro Pad is worn , these can be replaced with out replacing the whole Base Unit.

As for the Brads, sorry cannot help you there.

My velcro was beyond saving so I invested in the new base. There were a few options of different firmness levels of the foam material. The big difference that I noticed when replacing was just how worn / damaged the perimeter of the old base was which I didn't really notice until I put the new one on. It was more user abuse than anything else as I often use the sander for bandsaw boxes and the like which tends to ding up the perimeter of the foam more than just using it on a flat surface. With the new base the paper was supported to the very (sharp) edge and stayed on much better (in addition to the new velcro) ..... unfortunately now the "new" one is also getting a bit worn!

If timing doesn't suit for pickup how about mail order. The base itself is quite light and could be easily mailed in an Australia Post satchel for under $10.

Velcro is available from ABRASIFLEX , BUNNINGS, again any store that sell tools should have it, Sandpaperman , on this forum should also sell it.

To remove the old Velcro I normally sand / grind back with a small angle grinder and a 60Grit disc then smooth off by running the base flat on a sheet of 80grit paper.

this is as long as the foam on the base is not too chewed about.
