Where should I buy all my gear from?
Hello guys, just found this board, and will need, and hopefully be able to offer, help over the next few months. I arrive in Perth permanently with my family in a few months, and am hoping to set up a big workshop in my house/garage My main question is where should I buy all my equipment (tablesaw Bandsaw router dust extraction etc) The only place I have found online so far is: http://www.toolstore.com.au/ But as all you guys actually live in Aus, I know you will all know a lot better than me......any advice please.

Hi,welcome to the BB.Try the following
www.carbatec.com.au Perth branch 151 Balcatta Rd ph 08 9345 4522
www.timbecon.com.au 10 John St, Bentley ph.08 9356 1653
www.ptms.com.au Bayswater/Bunbury
www.ronmack.com.au Osborne Park
www.gabbett.com.au Bentley
Northern Machinery in Balcatta Rd opposite Carba-tec
The above are all dealers in woodworking machinery and some offer up traded machinery as an alternative.
Then you have Bunnings Warehouse,Mitre 10, at various locations dealing with the smaller gear.
This will give you a starting point to research prices...good luck with your arrival here.
Some of those urls are not opening up ...they were correct according to my Perth List ,however they will give you an idea of who else to check out in the Phone book on arrival.

Thanks for all those, thats excellent. Does anyone have anymore, is there perhaps somewhere in Sydnet that transports stuff across to the West coast and has a website. Finally, any good links for new and reclaimed wood.
Thanks again.

Suggest you check the "WEST AUSTALIAN" newspaper when you arrive as you'll have plenty of time setting up.
....Or if you cannot wait, do a search for their website.
Constantly running Ads for timber auctions...probably one of the cheaper options.
Otherwise heres a few to investigate.
Cullity's
Bunnings
Colli Bros
Morgan Timber & Plywood
Big River Timbers
Sotico Pty Ltd
Pine Timber Products Ltd
Just a few of the Perth area offering timber supplies then you have the salvage yards and of course the multitude of mills available in the SouthWest of the State.

Hi PB.. Having just got back from the city(Perth) I would suggest PB could probably stand for PoorBar....
Now one of the best places to buy your timber is from The Quokka out each Thursday, $2. from Newsagents.
Cheers
