Default Where can I buy sheets of UHMW plastic? (Brisbane)

They don't sell this stuff at standard hardware stores, and i'm having problems tracking down a raw plastics shops.

i need to line some stuff i made out of wood with the toughest most slippery stuff i can find, and i've been told by many sources that UHMW is the stuff to do it with.

can anyone help me? i'm located in south east brisbane and would like to get a sheet of it. thanks!

Try an engineering supplier like Blackwoods or a bearing shop.

try Plastral Fidene or Cadalac Plastics, both are in brisbane. Sorry i dont know the numbers off hand. Both are major players in the plastics industry and should have what your looking for.

Oh, Sharps Plywood have a range now of plastic sheet material. They carry a polysomthingoranother sheet that comes in varing thicknesses and colours.

We use it when we replace the vacuum pods on our cnc router. Not bad stuff, but not that cheap either.

    Default Source at West End

Last year I went to the recycle centre at West End and the had plenty of offcuts. I must get back there and get some for inserts on my table saw.

Reverse garbage seem to have a constant supply of variuos plastic oof cuts.
It seems to be mostly HDPE or similar but they did have some actual teflon in good handy lumps for a while.

    Its always worth a look.
Picked up half a slab of silkyoak a while back for $12.
Lastweek got a nice deep stanless laundry sink for $25
I always have a look If Im passing if I can manage it.
Don't forget to look out the back.

    cheers

Reverse Garbage would be my suggestion they had a stack when I was there last. Should be cheaper than a retailer.
