I have re- soldered new batteries into a black&decker batterery pack made it much much better than new. So I would try them or try your self.

We have in the past 2 years sold after market batteries & havent had a drama with them. In the last six months for some reason we have had over 15 come back & are starting to lose confidence.

Before you buy a new battery make sure watch out for a couple of things:

    1. the battery cells used are from japan
    2. you get a good warranty-min 1year
    3. your cordless tool is less than 4years old-if you use the tool everyday most cordless tools have alife expectancy of approx 5 years, after that you will usually have to change a switch or motor which might cost you a further $80-150 depending on brand. So you might of been better off buying a new drill(we see this scenario happen time & time again)
